VoIP phone service requires an analog telephone adapter to work correctly. An analog telephone adapter plugs into your high speed internet connection and converts internet voice data into analog signals. This enables you to plug in most any telephone you currently own and have it work with VoIP. You could also purchase an IP phone (made to work without an adapter) and use it instead. AusTex VoIP presents the following adapters for use with our service, but we will be happy to quote other options.

Linksys PAP2T-NA Analog Telephone Adapter - $115.00
The Linksys PAP2T-NA adapter can be chosen if you don't need to connect a computer or other device at the location you will be connecting the adapter to your local network. This device has only one RJ45 ethernet connection.

The adapter will be provisioned with your phone service and will be ready for service once you plug it into your home network with high speed internet. Price also includes a one time set up and activation fee as well as working with you to set up your mobile device.
Linksys SPA2102 Analog Telephone Adapter - $125.00
The Linksys SPA2102 adapter should be chosen if you would like to hook up a computer or other device at the same location as the adapter. This adapter has two RJ45 ethernet ports allowing you to connect the adapter and another device to one ethernet connection.
Your purchase price includes the brand new adapter which is yours to keep. The adapter will be provisioned with your phone service and will be ready for service once you plug it into your home network with high speed internet. Price also includes a one time set up and activation fee as well as working with you to set up your mobile device.
We also offer an installment plan as an alternative to payment in full. With the installment plan, you get the buy now features, plus your service is included for the three month payment period. At the end of the three month period, your monthy payment will drop to $29.95 per month for the service.
Something to Think About...
When purchasing VoIP phone service, almost all service providers such as AusTex VoIP send you some kind of telephone adapter pre-configured to use with their service. These adapters hook into your home network with high speed internet service. You then plug an analog phone into the adapter. You can only use a single phone at the adapter location (unless you have two lines).
One of the more popular ways of handling the single phone issue, is to plug in a multi-handset, cordless phone base into the adapter and distribute the other handsets throughout the home. The other method is to re-wire your existing telephone service wiring so that you can plug the adapter into one of your current phone jacks, and you can then plug in multiple phones using current jacks throughout the house.
WARNING - Analog telephone adapters (ATAs) cannot be plugged into your existing home phone wiring without modifications! The voltages used in analog and digital systems can damage your ATA. AusTex VoIP can visit your residence to re-wire your existing system to work with VoIP. If you ever go back to traditional analog service, it can easily be switched back by any phone service provider.

This package includes everything found in one of the above adapter purchases and will include a house call where we re-wire your existing telephone lines to distribute VoIP throughout your home over existing outlets.
This service is available to customers living within 50 miles of the Austin area. It is only available to customers who will have no other service coming in through the existing telephone wiring. We can also hook this up if you have naked DSL (only internet). Check with us first to be sure.
If you already have VoIP with another provider, and would like to have us modify your existing wiring to work with your telephone jacks, we offer that service for $60.00.
