We think the Clear Spot Wi-Fi router is one of the more interesting aspects of the CLEAR WiMAX service coming to Austin soon. We mentioned the Clear Spot in an earlier article, so we're not going into a lot of detail here. Essentially, the Clear Spot allows you to set up a Wi-Fi hot spot for up to 8 Wi-Fi enabled devices such as laptops, phones, and more. We found a really good YouTube video showing a side by side comparison of WiMAX 4G speeds compared with the 3G speeds you typically get from your cellular service. If you've already purchased a MiFI type device from a cellular carrier, and you are now, or soon will be in a WiMAX enabled city...well, we feel your pain.
