The CLEAR home modem is actually a Motorola CPEi 150 and was designed as the plug-and-play desktop indoor WiMAX modem. This is Wave 2 Ready Solution for Wireless broadband and operates in the 2.5GHZ band. Plug the ethernet cable into your computer, power it on and automatically connects to the WiMAX network and authenticates itself for easy setup. The only connections for this modem are the power jack, and one ethernert port, similar to any modem provided by cable or dsl providers.

If you're going to use this modem for more than just one computer in the household, than you will also need to set up a router or switch to handle the additional equipment. If you want CLEAR Voice with your WiMAX service, you will also need a method of hooking up more than just one device (assuming you're not getting voice only). AusTex VoIP can help you set up any type of home configuration to suit your needs, and we offer this for FREE when you get your CLEAR WiMAX service from us.
We have spotted a new Motorola modem, the CPEi 775 that we certainly hope CLEAR starts to offer soon. The CPEi 775 modem includes a built in Wi-Fi router and two analog telephone adapter ports as well. We'll put that up in a separate blog shortly.
